These bites of electro, techhouse, idm and ambience by Axel Bergk further explore the minimalist corners of One. Often exploring disharmony made naturual by under-pinned hooks, subtle changes, atmospheric textures, and repetition.
Just shy of an hour, Ecru is a long player that with patient listening reveals a comfortable coherence. While being mostly minimal and beat driven it doesnt fail to bring up emotion or experience thats important to every release selected here. Tracks like Inphyne represent his techniques within a 12'' beat-laden world, while Comolei and others explore the ambient side of things, bringing the atmospheres into the forefront. Mix in some elements of dub for good measure.

überzeugt hier und da mit Feinheiten, doch hat es seine Schwächen und erreicht nicht die Qualität der anderen Veröffentlichungen.

This is the first (full) One release where i've been left questioning why it was picked. the first 3 songs are nice and recommendable, but whats left..well..

as someone recently put it to me 'get off the reaktor presets'. No offense to lomov though, because i think he easily displays some potential. And in all fairness it's not a bad record. However, One releases usually spin my head in one way or another (no pun intended). This time it missed the mark of what ive come to expect. Im with the hope that this one off was simply a lapse in judgement, a favor for a friend, or ? .. Because so far, few netlabels have been able to deliever the quality that they've had up to this point. Noone's perfect. My harsh rating takes into consideration the strict standard im applying to it based on previous One releases.
